Disagree mate I have one in a community and I know of several others kept the same way. The only time they dispay any agression is to other FRT

Just because it worked for you, it doesn't means it is true for everyone else. Most, if not all, FRT and other turtle owners wake up to a massacre somewhere down the line. Never underestimate reptiles. They may appear cool for a couple years, then one of them kill all your percious terrarium mates. I see it all the time with mixed communities, and incidents have been reported retold so many time both in literature, real life and on the Internet. I remember someone on MFK describe FRT as a timebomb waiting to happen.

The only fish I would trust with turtles are fast-breeding feeders that will repopulate quite quickly.

I'm with oddball here. You can set up a turtle tank and add some fish if you'd like, but plan on them getting picked off slowly. I've had feeder fish live in turtle tanks for a year+ and suddenly get eaten.

I have had much luck with turtles and community tanks. Had FRT in my tank for many years and never had any aggression i also know of a few mombers on here with 14" FRT in there tanks with rays and other fish and still no problems. The key is to keep the turtle very well fed. I also have a chinese softshell and he is great with my fish and never showed any aggression. But like other members said i have also heard horror stories about turtles. I think it comes down to a few things Big tank with lots of room and feeding the turtle very well. Just my 2 cents

FRT is a no... they still eat fish. Someone (think fil...) had one eat a chunk of a jar not too long ago.

I must have the vegan FRT then!!! Also got a Papua New Guinea Snapper and Kinosternum living with convicts and also in my outdoor terrapin pond 13 red bellied terrapins living in the same pond as fish. Having said that I moved my European and Caspian turtles as they would have taken the fish

I've kept Eastern/Midland Painted turtles and Musk Turtles with Rock Bass, Bluegills and Bullheads with out any problems. Of course this was outdoors in a 550+ gallon pond. I think space and keeping the turtles well fed was the key factor.
