hi,ive got fish and have kept them for 3 years and was looking to get a viveraium with a smallish lizard 6-10" not including the tail that are easy to keep and are lively (run around and play) for about £160 with a viveraium any ideas...

wow those are specific instructions :P

Why dont you get a chameleon? Veiled or panthers are nice and SO cool to watch.you can either buy or make a viv. Should be about 3'x2'x2'.

There are a bunch of geckos (crested, gargoyle, leopard, fattail, etc), some small skinks (Berber, fire) that might interest you.

Chameleons tend to be touchy and are not recommended for new keepers.
There are several types of small, inexpensive lizards that are active during the day. longtailed grass lizards, fence and rock swifts, and many of the agamid types like the spineytails come to mind.

I don't think reptiles are playful in general. If you work with the reptile they can become tamer and share sort of a bond. I think the top 2 tame reptiles would probably be Bearded Dragons and Leopard Geckos.

Ferrets are playful. Reptiles are not "playful",sorry but end of story. lol. Some dont mind being handled, and some will chill out in the open, but none would be described as playful.
