well my aquarium is divided is one third part i.e one part is only for bgkf pair and the other is for oscar pair /albinocatfish/firemouth
if tank is divided inx3, 22g tank
you need a larger tank asap
oscar and walking cat grow real fast
spliting this tank in 3 gives you 7g sections
2 oscars in 7 gallon is cruel
im not trying to be a J/K but you need a larger tank
as for the cat these fish constantly in search for food
not enough space grow fast an quick

ive heard of someone who kept 3 bgk in a 55 and they actually bred:eek:
my bull**** alarm is going off lol

but seriously dude... just no stop buying fish save money for a bigger tank. you are going to need it soon

int he lab, 2 bgk don't go togehter in any size tank regardless of size. Its either by itself, or with a lot of them to spread aggression.

The guy who spawned them provided pics of bgks that looked about 2cm long. I have yet to see a 2cm long bgk for sale.

I had no problems with a pair of BKG. I had them in a 55 gallon for a while, bought them as a pair they were 1 1/2". One of them is about 6" long, the other was eaten by my baby tiger shovel nose.

I’ve seen the pics of the guy in Australia who claims to have bred BGKs… I thought he did it in a large pond though, not a 55 gal… His claim seemed legitimate but then he disappeared… I’m not calling him a liar… but I’m not convinced it’s true either…

I’ve tried keeping more than one BGK in the same tank 3 times… 2 times I ended up with 1 BGK and the 3rd time I ended up with none… Again, I’m not calling anyone a liar and there are exceptions to every rule…

But the “rumor” that you cannot keep BGKs together is true…

I also have had no success with keeping 2 bgk in a tank. I've tried twice all with different fish and it failed both times. However, I know people who have done this successfully, so I think it all boils down to the personality/temperament of the individual(s) in question. I would not risk it though.

They need room to swim so the longer and the taller the tank the better. They like to swim backwards, forwards, sideways, straight up & down and they swim fast when they are really on a cruise. At the same time you have to have room for their cave. If I could, I'd have a ginormous tank and have as many ghost knives in it as it would safely hold. Really fascinating fish.
