I want to verify I have a Pseudoplatystoma corruscans

Whilst I’d love to say yes, have you got a better side on picture? The head and jaw look a little short in the ones you have there.

It is as GFK101 says, no doubt. TSN x achara man made hybrid, a food fish. Much more you could learn here: https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/tsnxlei-i-think-could-it-be-p-corruscans.564171/

I went through the link and it does look like what I have is obviously a TSN x achara. I have had several TSN and achara and have only seen small pictures of the hybrids for sale and had been wanting one now to find out I already had one lol

here is a video I had to move these guys inside from the pool pond because of the weather so they are usually in a much larger system

That's funny indeed :)

True corruscans are almost never seen in the hobby. Many wish they had it, myself included.

I really cant see how these are being mistaken for corruscans the hybrids look nothing like a corruscans. The head and body shape is nowhere near the same. The only link i can see is the pattern but even that is only cos they both have spots.
Well, you are one of those rare corruscans owners!

For one they are marketed as food in South America as spotted TSN, pintado or some such, which, when it has to be translated into English, is equivalent to spotted TSN / corruscans.

Starting with the wrong ID at the POS sales point, they are easily confused to untrained eye, as my thread dutifully keeps documenting, I am sure every hundredth or thousandth case.

They can fool even a trained eye. This issue has been ongoing between your countryman Fishman Dave and me :) Dave keeps saying they look close enough to his eye and he is enormously experienced and a master identifier in my book. He has amazed and schooled me with his knowledge many times.
