I have a lfs that has great owners, it is family run and has a few part time employe's that have worked there for a dozen years. They have a modest fish and equipment section, the prices are below the big chains for all but equipment. I have never seen a dead fish or unclean tank. I try to buy as much as possible from them and even give them the chance to come close to what I can get price wise in another shop.

I am lucky to have found a good one.....too bad they are 25 miles away from me. The owner treats every fish in his store as if it was his own. Extremely knowledgable. He will even custom order fish for you if his supplier can get them.

His fish and tanks are always looking good!
