shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
i started with a 30 gallon, and am up to a 90 gallon. i have a small room. my 90 gallon is a bit overstocked and contains a RTC i know will have to one day be moved to a pool which im already trying to figure out how to setup. because I joined this forum, i learned about the gulper cat. now im going to buy another tank just to get 3 of them, and throw out some furniture in my room, rearrange everythign else, just to make room for the tank. i wouldve never believed anyone if they told me id end up like this after i took my 30 gal with 2 red devils off my friends hands cuz he was leaving for 6 months.

hahahah somebody shouldve warned you that its an addiction...

surely need a warning label.
As for me, I always like fishes, but only had some bp and goldfishes, and never care about them so much.
Now I got a discus tank (plan to breed them when the time comes), a pool (1000 L.) for 2 gigas, 2 rtc and 2 tsn. Its a growing tank, but If someone had told me 8 months ago I would have this monsters, I wouldnt believe

Ditto, but now the 4000 gal is well under way. I'll give a warning to steer clear of my threads. Many have told me of their addiction to catfish after reading them. You'll have to post up some pics to go with this thread. Also check out the monster catfish league thread. you're entitled a number since you have RTC.

i checked out that thread but i thought they said it has to be at least 12 inches so i have a bit to go. when i first got my caught, i read that it gets huge and will end up needing at least a 2500 gallon tank, but i just figured its a cool looking fish so i had to get it, but if it got to big id get rid of it. after having it for a few months, i cant get rid of it. that should be the warning. if you get this fish and you think youll just get rid of it when it gets too big, be prepared to like it so much that you start saving money and thinking of ways to keep a pool in your house for it. im planning to get either a kiddie swimming pool or really large tub, get a pond filter for the amount of gallons it is, and im still trying to figure out how to heat the water because most pond and pool filters do not seem to have a way to regulate the temperature like the tank filters do. do you guys think this will be an adequate setup? i plan to only have my RTC in this pond because my oscars and stay in the 90 gal and if my gar gets too long for it i can throw him in the pool as well, but it seems like a kiddie pool with adequate filtration will be enough for these 2 fish. i already convinced my parents to allow me to get a second tank, now im just searchign craigslist for a good deal on a 55 gallon setup and i plan to get 3 gulpers. craigslist is a godsend for tanks and equipment. i got my 90 gallon with stand for 100$

wait until you look back after a year has gone bye...:WHOA::D

Welcome....and save those pennies.

LMAO Yeah I have to agree that this site needs a warning label... When I was keeping fish before this site I was content with my 10 gallons 10 20 gallons... but then I saw what others were doing and realized that my crappy little setup that I thought was "hardcore" fish keeping... was in fact CRAP and that people were keeping Beasts... and I HAD TO HAVE THEM :D

So now... look at my sig and you'll see SOME of the fish I've gotten in the past 9 mths... not to mention the 300 Gallon, 2 180 Gallon, 250 Gallon and several other "smaller" tanks... 20's 30's 50's 100's And Thousands of hours wasted searching on the internet.... I think this site owes me a big fat check actually :irked: :grinno:
