ICE FISHING

When I first heard that it could be done I was suprised that you could catch LMB when ice fishing. I know they are there but I figured catching them that way would be very difficult if not near impossable. NY just opened up a second bass season just for the winter (before it was just May-November).

Nice to have a second bass season and its pretty easy to catch bass thru the ice.MA state record LMB of 15lb. came thru the ice.

Not much ice here to fish on this year. I live near Seneca lake, I fish there in winter along the shore (when it's not too cold). Seneca lake rarely freezes much. Same for the lake on the other side of me (Cayuga).

All the Cape Cod ponds are open now . They start stocking trout next week

They do start stocking but you can fish bass lakes that have no trout in them

The lake I fish on is crowded with bass, I never catch one. Do they go deep or shallow in the winter?

I have no idea ewurm. This is going to be my 1st year fishing right after ice out. They say throw grubs,jigs and jerk baits.

But when I do ice fish im in 15-20 feet of water when i get my bass.
