I know how you feel...it drives me nuts when I see one of my fish ill.Lion8974;1575636; said:Thanks guys. Like I said, I take extreme measures to make sure my cats are healthy and this is just killing me.
I already raised the temp from 76-77f to 80-81f. I just need to add the salt. Also, would an airstone work for adding additional oxygen? I use one in my wet/dry and I have reverse flow pumps pushing up from the gravel to circulate water. I can easily add the airstone to the main tank if recommended to do so?
Last, how long between water changes of the tank while the salt is doing its thing?
I've actually performed water changes while treating the tank just because I have a lot of VERY messy feeders in there so I don't like risking any anaerobic bacteria forming while I'm treating.
What I do is treat the whole tank, let it sit for a few days and then I do 25% water changes every few days and just treat the water that your adding to the tank with salt. The salt doesn't evaporate so you don't have to treat for full capacity on a water change.
