can you guys help me with this :(
my tank is goin under an ich infection whats a way to speed up the process. my german ram isnt looking to good right no :(

i turned up the temp of the water. turned the lights out. put ich medicine in the water. what else should i do
sould i do some water changes daily?

help me :(

small water changes might help.. im not an expert but i know a lot of people on here would recommend using salt rather than ich meds - good luck

I'd say w/c, bump up the temperature, and aquarium salt. I personally don't and wouldn't use Ich meds. Stay on top of that and it should cure. Keep a close eye on the conditions of the tank. Hopefully it wont get any worse but you definitely have to keep up with those 3 things. That's my advice to you sir. G/L!

ok guys thanks
ive bumped my temp up and killed the lights. tomorrow ima go pick some salt up...the "aquarium" salt is what ive been using is that stuff good? its in like a blue carton thingy.. im going to test my water everything shall equal 0 correct. should i kill my filters or leave them on?

Yea, if it's aquarium salt then that's what you need to use. & yes, it's in a blue carton. I have the same one from API. Just add the recommended amount to your tank according to your tanks size, and like xrayjeeper83 said, SLOWLY bump up the temperature to about 82-84 degrees. & don't shut off your filters... Remember you're adding salt to the tank. You need more oxygen since the salt decreases it. As long as there's salt being added to the tank and higher temperatures, increased aeration is needed.

The only time I've ever lost fish because of ich is when I tried using ich meds. Heat + salt works like a charm.

What meds are you using? Rid ick + is excellent. Make sure you take the carbon out.

For light infections I have used salt with success, 2tbsp/gallon of regular Morton's Table salt.

For heavy infections Ick clear has worked well.
