Add methlyene blue, up your temp to 30°, and within 5 days you'll have no more ick.

I found that the salt method dragged on longer than I liked, if I detect disease I want it eradicated as quick as possible

adding MB to your tank is not a good ideal as its a broad spectrum anti bacterial, can kill your bio filter. best used in a bath, or a nursery tank.

Heat is the best cure IMHO, salt or no salt up to you.
