Cryptocaryon (AKA marine ich) will live for a LONG time without a host. Get your temp down to the mid 70s and drop the salinity to help kill it off. Sounds like you found the freshwater treatment, not the marine treatment.

define a LONG time? ive always been of the understanding that they cannot live more than three months at most without hosts?

yea, im def gonna wait till after new years at least. but at least me clean up crew is alive, and my coral. im gonna start a new thread about this tank so that i can personaly see the progress of my tank.
