My Angel fish is dead i believe from TB. Is TB catchy? I am currently treating my parrot fish, my pleco fish and my fire gourami for ich, but the symptoms i looked up online for my angel fish was tb. :(

thanx

TB is contagious, both to other fish and to humans, Treat with kanamycin and vitamin B-6 for 30 days, wash with anti-bacterial soap any time exposed to tank water, use long rubber gloves.

thankyou for the bad news... lol. will it affect my snail too?

posting in the right section first would probably help getting information instead of crying why no one is helping you but back on track i recently had an ick breakout from a fish i bought but did not quarentine. All i did was raise the temp to 86 degrees and add salt 2 teaspoons of salt per 10 gallons and the ick was gone in 2 weeks.

like stated above, TB is highly contagious and you can get it from touching the ill fish.. always wear rubber gloves and scrub any skin that came in contact with the water or the fish.. go with what guppy stated.. also with ick just raise the temp (as many posters have stated) and add aquarium salt. best of luck to you.

Do you get really sick if you get TB?

Yeah it makes you sick, it's tuberculosis. I've never met anyone with it, and certainly never met anyone that got it from fish. Not to dis the poster, but I doubt it's TB... TB was one of the leading causes of death in this country before Penicillin was discovered. Now, drug resistant and fast acting/very deadly strains pop up every once in a while. If those traits combine, we're in big trouble. There is a chance, but I doubt it will come from aquaria.
