Ich outbreak! Wish me luck!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ur fish died from the result of ick and you JUST noticed white spots???

Likely the result of bad water w/ stress..... solve the real problem else it will come back!

Weather it died from ick or not it died and had the white spots, not many on it but it died, it being a catfish and only coming out at night usually it's kinda hard to see there being white spots on a nocturnal fish. So thanks for the concern but there is no "real issue" with my tank. Temps are raised and meds have been given. The spots have cleared up and I'm leaving the temps up.

Also there were only a few spots on my gt, when I say a few I mean I only saw 3. The rest of my fish were fine, I treated the tank regardless because it was present in the tank. So no my fish were not covered in whirs spots of that's what your getting at.

Water changes, salt and heat work for me better than many of the meds out there.

your best bet is to buy ick medicine this whole natural **** with just raising the temp wont work.

Dude must work for the pharmaceutical companies. That's the only way he could sit here and say that the MANY people who have cured ick with salt and warmer water are lying. What a joke.

It depends on your stock, dimensions, how severe the Ich is and many other factors, yes you can help the fish fight it off themselves by adding salt and warming the water, doing lots of waterchanges etc, but the truth is that it is a parasite and not just a result of dirty water like a lot of other deseases.

you can either help your fish fight it off or you can use antiparasitic medicines to kill the desease. both work, so stop arguing about it.

(I currently have a few fish with Ich, am highering temperatures and also using medication)

Well played, sometimes we all (myself included) need to be treated like 5 year olds here.

I agree, high temps work great, just finished off an outbreak yesterday
