ich question

im treating a tank for ich with salt.
once the ich is gone on the fish,how can i make sure its all gone for good?
if i take the fish out and like triple the salt,would that work?

make sure you raise the temp. if you do it for long enough it will be gone, but it may reoccur. just got to look out for signs afterwards

see thats what i dont want.
i just have junk fish in this tank and they got ich somehow.
well once there ich is gone and i put the real fish in i dont want them to get it one day.

thats why i ask if i remove the fish and double or triple the salt will it kill it for good.

It will kill the ich that is in the tank. Ich can come back though. Best way to keep it away is a UV sterilizer IMO. Salt and heat will kill the ich, but won't ensure that you will never have it again.

Treat with meds for 2 weeks at the highest temp your fish can be kept safely at with suitable meds (I recommend quick cure or rid ich) or salt.

How do ya avoid it in the future? Quarantine. Also, keep the fish healthy. Keep the water clean, don't stress the fish with changing temps, chem, over stocking, agressive fish, and all that good stuff.
