I just noticed some white spots on my pike at first it looked like he was covered in sand as he usually rubs he's side on top of the rock his cave and sand?????please help and if it is what should I do eat do I use wich works faster!?!?!?PLS PLS HELP ASAP SO I CAN GO TO THE LFS FIRST THING TOMORROW MORNING PLS!!!???

Just add some bit of sea salt and do 30-50% water changes every other day for a week or so. You can also rub it off gently if you can catch him again

This is not a good idea, it will spread like wildfire in your tank if you do. Just treat with heat and salt, give it a week or two and should clear up.

+1 ich is related to stress, netting a fish causes stress so imagine netting then picking him up and rubbing him while he cant breath!

Up temp 80-82 add tablespoon of salt per 5-10gals and turn light off and leave alone, test water before this to confirm what may be the root cause!

Don't be so close minded and use some common sense dude... Put the fish in a bucket or do it in the aquarium underwater ofc !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (im also using alot of exclamation since most users use it so much)

I personally would never rub my fish even in water... #1 their piranhas so that wouldnt work and #2 every fish is a carrier or ick but certain stressors bring it out!!!! So "rubbing it off" or even treating it wont get to the long term problem of whats wrong with the poor guy to begin with, not saying you gave bad advice, just giving my opinion to the op as scraping the fish isnt a popular solution, and btw it may not even be ick!

And believe me im not close minded! More then one person said it isnt a good idea and mister kevinf is very knowledgable about fish.

What worked for me doesn't necessary work for others. And how much more stress can it have compared to buying a new fish in fish store netting it, keeping it in small bag while driving home, and then put it in the aquarium still in the bag, and then introduce the fish to the new tank?

Getting rid of white spots by netting a sick fish and rub VERY gently not scraping. This only takes few minutes compared to other things fishes can go through. And fishes actually scrape their bellies on rocks and what not when taking a dump for example... so in theory you can just scrape the ich with rocks xD

And talking about it spreading like wildfire in the tank by doing this.... if you want to do this safer you can do this in a bucket and then just throw the water out in the drain and put the fish back in the tank with fresh new water and salt and keep changing water.

Btw have you seen how they cut the teeth on puffer fishes?!?
