It's a shame clown loaches are considered for beginners when they should start with the ones that do not exceed 6 inches. Furthermore, clowns are indeed sensitive and easily stressed. B. almorhae and B. striata are a good start but they're not really as popular as the clowns.

i agree. i have had clowns for 5 years now and never had an ich outbreak this bad. This is my first year trying other species of loaches and they are much hardier than clonwns but lack the personality
man i suck more than i though i did. My wife just got up and turned the tank lights on to find 2 of my CLs dead. I got salt and temp at 90*, fixin to test the water.
