Yesterday I noticed that my elec blue ahli in african tank had white particles all over it. It did not nave them the day before. I have come to the conclusion from doing research in MFK threads and posts, that my "tank" has ick.

I have started using QuICK Cure on the tank. I am aware of the time frame of the ich cycle and when it is ipmortant to use the meds.

I do have one question. I know I am supposed to do water changes, and my water has a chlorine smell to it due to our local village having to "bomb" the water supply because the well failed inspection a while back.

My question is, what type of conditioner can I use that will not affect the meds when i use it. I have a bottle of prime and would love to use it if I can.

Any help is appreciated!! :(

when doing a water change you have to use a water conditioner if its clorinated .Are you worried mixing chemicals would have adverse effect ?You could just use copper safe by mardel labs.It treats ick flukes ancher worms in other words tons of parasites just dont over dose.

ok, i will look to get some soon, if the quIck Cure doesn't seem to work.

I was still wondering if Prime would affect the QuIck Cure meds? I have used it in the past and it worked but I did not have the chlorine problem with the city water like I have now so i did not use conditioners back then when doing water changes.

Prime should not affect your treatment with meds. Have you researched using heat + salt to treat ich? Works like a charm with no meds necessary.

I really dont think so. but i did check the precautions on the copper safe right now and it did not say anything about mixing etc.just isnt safe for invertibrates like snails jelly fish.

prime is safe with all the meds I have used. Quick cure I have the most experience with and with water changes and prime worked quite well to get the fish better.

THANKS!!! Tcarswell, your help is much apreciated. I am picking up a heater tomorrow for the tank to raise the temp to help speed things up.
