If u do a research on UV sterilizers it will not kill and completely remove ich. U will still have to treat the tank with meds to remove ich. UV will only aid curing or prevent it but will not heal a infected fish.

Some medications really are safe... Is rather dose with para guard and get rid of the problem in a day or 2 than wait a week for salt and heat

Heat actually speeds up the life cycle, so doing that and just adding salt might not be enough. Salinity increase has a negative impact on the parasite's ability to live (due to changes in osmoregulation), but it might not be enough to kill it off. There are a few very safe meds you can use with the rays in the tank. Quick Cure (formalin based) is another you can try.

Yes most meds will not work with a UV running. A lot of parasite killing meds says on the directions to turn off your uv sterilizer while treatment.
