I'd stick with the 86 degrees, and salt. It's worked a few time's for me when I was about an hour from my fish shop and the clowns would always get ich on the way home. Never used chemicals, never lost a loach from ich.
I've done quick cure VERY succesfully at half doses on a specific schedule/technique for many types of loaches/scaleless fish. Ich is nothing... I feel bad for ich when it attacks my fish, cuz it's gonna DIE!
