Ick treatment for PBASS help!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am currently treating my tank with this product and I was wondering what exactly should I be expecting the fish to look like day by day? I have read that the Ich will actually look worse before it looks better. My Pbass look to be shedding the Ich and actually looks like a snake kind of. Is this okay?

Normally, all you need is to add salt and raise the temp above 84F. Don't forget to boost aeration since warmer water holds less dissolved oxygen.

IF I need to treat, I use Maroxy since it's safe enough to use in treating eggs and fry.

Then, I'd advise using Maroxy for the reasons stated above. However, you still need to raise your temp above 84F due to the fact that the parasite breaks down in high temps.
Remember to continue treatment for a week after the last of the visible fruiting bodies disappears. The continued treatment will kill off the free-floating spora (theronts, trophonts) in the water column, plants, and substrate.

Just did a 30% water change Im going to add the treatment this evening I am very nervous about my other temensis because he is pretty badly infected by Ich and Im not sure if thats it just looking worse during the treatment or what?

I thought ich was a parasitic protozoa (ie: not fungal).

I have a bottle of Maroxy, it says for bacterial and fungal infections? Does it also work for ich?
