Ick treatment questions

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I treated my clown loaches with Rid Ich at full strength and Quik Cure at full strength without any complications. At that time, I had to switch to Quick Cure because the Rid Ich did not do anything even at full strength. Treated with Rid Ich for about 2 weeks. It is amazing that there were no deaths.

Just my opinion on what I would use. Other people will say things against this.

Honestly I think a lot of the paranoia about the meds is baseless. I've had zero problems with quick cure at half dosage, and the one time I tried using salt and heat, it failed miserably.

all but one clown loach made it through the treatments, think i tried just about everything, even adding bleach to my tank water.... So honestly i don't know what works better but it did work...

I'm glad to hear you had a success rate close to 100%!!! Did you use the CopperSafe at all? Bleach thing sounds scary...

wait, are you supposed to add the copper safe to the main tank?
like are u supposed to move them to a new tank and use it or just leave them in the main tank and use the medication?

That depends on whether you're treating the whole tank or just one fish... I run CopperSafe in all of my growout tanks, but I use UV in the displays so my plants don't get stunted.
