ARe these P.Altum or P.Scalare??? and why???

look like silver angels (P. scalare} to me. altums have a more defined nose and the colors to me are more of a tan-ish silver with brown stripes. heres a link to some pictures in the forum page 20, first picture is an altum

Agreed, P. Scalare,

Google Pictures of Altums and you'll see the difference.

100% regular silver scalare. Some nice blues on them.

The round body shape and round snout is the give away.

Altums look much more vertically compressed.

I didn't think they where peruvian scalares. IME P. scalare from peru have shown more altum characteristics.

can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between P scalares and P Leopoldi??

P. Leopoldi looks more like a racing version of the angel. Their heads go back swiftly and it is more laterally compressed and does not have fins that get as elaborate as the other 2 defined species.

good eye! i didnt notice the blueing in the last picture. thats a nice looking angel if he shows those colors all the time.
