Not Bleheri or Orientalis.
I'm leaning towards Sp. 5 Stripe.
Any more photos?

Now we talking bro :)
I'm no channa expert, but one of ma colleague was saying has the body of a 5stripe and find of a true blue. Hybrid mebbe?

Well the supplier gave me a name of Cobalt Blue :D

It looks similar to a stewartii, but I can't see the typical spotting on the body.
The sp 5 stripe adults seem to keep a bit of the spotting on the dorsal fin that the juvies have, but I don't really see that either.
I see that you are in India, do you know where it was collected?
It is a great looking channa and I would buy it, especially if there is a group all the same.

Edit: The whine is good tonight, so I may see a new picture tomorrow.

Haha cheers on the wine mate ;)

I woulda gone in for if two things were compatible with me:
1) The price $100/- a piece
2) It is sub tropical and I live in tropical India :) bless the sunshine.

Yup there is a group of them. And they are really stunning to look. Could be some kinda stewartii variant as well not sure. I had to really hold myself back and not pick them up as that will create an huge hole in ma wallet which is already a pothole lol. I am gonna be getting few aurantis though.

Hi,
for sure a stewartii variant. There are still llits of variants to be found in subtropical high altitude aresas in india. Great find, beatiful fish !!

I think sp. five stripe is from the sewartii complex, too.

And its for sure not a crossbreed .

Cheers
