My 2 inch niloticus are upstairs... well out of range of my laptop cam lol - still haven't gotten a digicam, but they sure do look like niloticus to me.
Do your baby mossies have reddish fins at this size (as shown in the picture above?) Just curious Because niloticus doesn't.

PS
since you're in the states... I've been looking for some mossies. Want to send some my way? Feel free to PM me.

Any updated pics of that baby ? I'd love to see how he develops.

Hard to say what size the fish in the picture is but I would guess it to be no more than 2" TL and at that size most of mine did not have red edges. Usually only the most dominant fish starting hinting red edges first and generally at about 1.5-2" but it varies.

update

it reached about half an inch then it was fighting/chasing my dat and bit off one of the fins at the bottom of the dat so i had to separate them i took the baby out and up it in the pond with two small 1inch+ giant SH i thought it was too big for the sh to swallow that following night i saw the sh stomach bloated in a funny way ,near exploding

hey i found another one! hehe this time he is not going to be eaten up =) its smaller then the one before my cam is nowhere near that level of technology so i cant get pics of it yet =X i post pics when it get bigger
