It's best to know the source. Also try looking at the head shape instead of patterns. CB and WC can still resemble each other on patterns, clean or scattered. WC will usually have have a non- popping eyes or no frog eyes. Frogs eyes are common in CB bichirs. I have never seen a WC yet with frog eyes.
