ID Catfish

Im pretty sure this is an Irridecent Catfish, but i thought they only got to be but like 8 inches or so. Hes about 14, but hes loving my pond. Any clue whats the biggest for these guys? Also, whats the best food to feed him?

the anal fin and the dorsal fin says its a an ID cat
but the tail kinda looks different
 
i was just thinking that!!!! ya im pretty sure its not an IR shark/catfish. if it is it might be a hybrid. or also it might be a paroon shark but i dont know wat there tails looks like.
 
Hard to tell exact species from above pic, but I'm betting it's an ID.

IDs can get three feet or more, the fact that they get 8 inches is a myth.
 
It's an ID Shark. Their tail rounds out as they get older. They definitely get bigger than 8"...more like 4'
 
oh damn, figures a LFS told me all that lol. Thanks for the help guys, ill try an get some better pics here soon. Whats the best thing to feed him to grow him up some?

He eats the left overs from the turtles, most likely the chicken scraps and pellets that fall. But i know theres lil cricket like animals in the bottom of the pond, plus its toad mating season an everyones going nuts over the baby tadpoles!
