Ordered two Cobalts Blue's online, this was one of the two. It's light blue with dark blue speckles all over. My alpha Cobalt torments it constantly:

To me it looks to possibly have hap ahli or some type of hap but really not sure he looks pretty cool though... r there females in the tank also?

It's def different looking and the only fish in my tank that I'm unsure of. I'm not sure what sex my alpha Cobalt is, I'm guessing it's male as it's the king.

Always thought it had a peacock look to it's face, and it suprisingly holds it's own against much larger fish in my tank.

Thanks for the suggestions, I wonder if he'll change color when he grows. Here's another pic of him hiding in the back from the alpha Cobalt:

I agree with it being an OB peacock. Peacocks can have a tough time adjusting to mbuna aggressioin which may be why he's being tormented and hiding a lot.

He's actually doing really good if he is a Peacock (considering their more peaceful tempermant). That alpha Cobalt chases everyone, because he's the largest dominant fish, but I think it singles him out because of the similar coloration. Other than that, he's very scrappy and holds his own with everyone else. He actually chases 60% of the other Mbuna in there. I've just always wondered what he is, makes more sense now.

thanks!

The OB peacock is actually a hybrid and most of them have a mbuna or hap mix so they are usually the most aggressive peacock in fact my ob does not get bothered by any mbuna and will not tolerate any other male peacocks in the tank.
The reason his alpha cobalt is tormenting it is probably
because they r the same type and they are both male any time you have 2 males of the same type the more dominant one will keep the less dominant one under constant suppression sometimes if the less dominant one has a growth spurt and starts to catch up in size they will challenge the other for dominance~ especially if there are females to fight for...
I have a drama series going on in my tank constanlty... They are very interesting fish for sure!

Yeah I saw that they are hybrids, well he's unique so I'm going to keep him.

I hear you on the tank drama, it's fun to watch, wish I had more time to do it. My initial king of the tank was a Cherry Red Zebra and once my Cobalt Blue hit a growth spurt, he started cleaning house. My favorite to watch are my Demasoni, they are little bumblebee buggers.

Thanks for the input green.
