red eyes scream flowerhorn maybe some kind of mix

the red eyes in the flowerhorn come from the trimac side, but I said that about the midas eyes because mine have had them since they were fry and are now 15 months old.

it could well be a RD/midas hybrid.

its definatley not a urophthalmus

it could possibly be a hybrid with some festae in.

id put my money on it being a RD/midas cross, from an LFS. in a couple months when its put a bit of size on, say 4-5" it will start to loose the dark colouration and become a yellowy/goldy colour.

red eyes doesnt meen flowerhorn atall, tons of species have red eyes including RD/Midas.

Red Devil,Midas,Crosses all are the same fish if you ask me..Nobody can tell the difference,or they just tell ya its a crossbreed. a few give a picture of a completely different looking fish calling it a TRUE Red devil,Or Midas the debate will never be solved as i see it.

BadFishPa...There are over 5,000 people on here that can tell you the difference in a heartbeat. Most with great knowledge, experience and information to learn from...if you are able to absorb it.

Wild caught & F1's from reliable sellers arent even close to crosses or the same fish. :screwy:

The picture above in my previous post shows a barred midas Ive had since it was a fry, but it did not look exactly like that young one, thats why I didnt think it was a midas.

a stupid spot does not make the fish uro.
it looks more like a bar than anything.
IT'S DEFINITELY A MIDAS.

and to help everyone else out my barred midas even has red eyes lol.
so FH aren't the only fish.
