Needle 100% ... Nice fish too if you can't house one of the true gar species. hard on the wallet though to feed. My old one at 10"-12" use to take out 60 rosy minnows a week easy, and woulda prolly eaten twice that if I had the room to keep that many QTd. Had to get rid of it because my Florida decided he didn't like it.

they are also native to the philippines, they are brackish if i'm not mistaken. i often see them in the surface of the water in the estuary near our local bridge.
