ID help needed

I would say it's an adult male Atabapo 2(the ladder pikes)......the Atabapo 1's have more red thru the body (even males) and the tear drop is only on the Atabapo 2's....IMO
it's missing the white line thru the dorsal, that is why I say male... plus it's a wine color which is a trait of adult Atabapo 2's, Atabapo 1's are more of a cherry red color...nice fish!!

Atabapo II females do not exhibit the white sub-marginal dorsal stripe like other lugubris group pikes. Rather they have black spots on their dorsal. Too add, Atabapo II does not exhibit an oceli on it caudal peduncle but rather a series of small spots

The fish in question is an Atabapo I male that is simply not showing his best color.
