ID help on FL native Fish please

you're right. I believe it's a rainwater killifish. Was the area you were in connected to salt water at some point? Not that it would rule anything out, but you usually see rainwater killis in salt water.
 
Most Florida springs have cristal clear waters, but high pH and electrical conductivity because of the dissolved minerals they contain. In Alexander springs you can also see mullets and I have heard that there are even stingrays in there in the winter.
