doubht it was wild caught as this is a man made hybrid... sure theres a very slim chance it was wild caught...but theres no doubht of what it is. wont change from a marblextsn hybrid as it grows.

Lovely cat! I love its activity and the photogenic looks.

No need for more input on the ID. No need for doubt or for waiting it out.

Wednesday has already stated all that's true about this catfish.

It is quite well known. It is not wild caught but man made for food and the ornamental fish trade gets some too to supplement farmer's income.

If you were genuinely seeking out a giant-growing corruscans, you have been had. It's marketed widely, if not exclusively, as corruscans or spotted TSN in Brazil by internal producers and also exporters, while it is not at all.

Much more you can learn from here:

Any time, bro. HTH.

Let us know how this goes. I expect they'll disregard your inquiry.

I'm not saying you were cheated badly. TSNxLei hybrids go for $40-$60 in the US at ~4"-6" size. True corruscans (according to my second link I have doubt we ever see them offered), or whatever they are, go for 10x-20x more $$$.

So at step one, one may guess what they are being offered. Cheap = hybrid in this case. Expensive = worth looking into so you are not wasting your hard-earned silver.
