ID help please never seen stripes like this?

sorry pic was taken with my cell phone and through both the bags he is in.

Just picked this guy up at walmart today. I got him before he was even in their tank and just off the delivery truck. He is still quite small only about an inch to inch and a half long. I just have never seen the stripes running this way and was wondering what I have?

nothing too unusual. I think it might be a Julidochromis species.

Melanochromis Auratus definatly. just a couple days ago I almost bought one thinking it was a bunblebee, then I saw the difference.

Yep mel auratus. Wont get any bigger than 4" Really. It could also develop to be a male also.
