ID help please never seen stripes like this?

its a mel. auratus. probably male-females look a little drabber. definately not a giraffe (venustus) cichlid-..

he wont get very big, but can become aggressive once they sexually mature.

yea i have an assortmint of chiclids in my tank so I hope they all get along haha.

nothing too unusual. I think it might be a Julidochromis species.

Its no juli,Melanochromis and its kinda funny how I know this fish yet I've never kept one.
