well i aquired this guy from a friend of mine a few weeks ago.. he was moving and didnt take his fish with him. he couldnt find a home for this fish so i took it. im not wure what kind he is.. any help will be apreciated..

at the moment he is in a 75 gallon tank to grow out in..

looks like one of the several pike characins to me or false gars. They are often sold as gars. I'm sure he will do fine in a 75 gal.
Edit: I think its Boulengerella maculata.

i bought one of these a few years ago but only lasted a week, didnt want to eat.

hes been doing pretty good. real picky eater.. right now he will only take live feeders.. good thing i have convicts that breed like crazy to use as feeders

yep Boulengerella maculata they can be picky eater but try to get it off feeders but if our breeding your own its not so bad just make sure you keep the fry clean but try pieces of fish and shrimp also worms to feed it

can't remember exactly how big they get but its over 12''
