Just bought this fish it was in a tank with a bunch of other Electric blue ahli females but this one is different?

agreed, def a hap of some sort, but it is too young for any, for sure, ID. Yeah, the female elecric blues don't have those stripes...at least none that i have ever had or seen. They sometimes have a series of 3-5 spots in a row, but no stripe, and they are also more brown than silver.
so for right now, it's not a female ahli, and sure doesn't look like a male either.

I have a Protomelas taeniolatus (Red Empress) juvie who looks just like that. They all look like females until they get to about 3.5", and then they start to color up. Here are a couple of pics of the grownups from different locations in the lake:
