My husband purchased a hybrid african Cichlid that he thought was gorgeous as it appeared a pearly white.. Now in a larger, cleaner aquarium than at the LFS, the fish has begun to turn a light orangy peach color with blue on its fins.. I am newer to cichlids and can't figure this one out.. the flash washed out the blue on his fins but they get a deeper royal blue, just at the edges..not the whole fin..

It's the fish in below pic that is side-on

Wrong section, this is for american cichlids.

But it looks like a metriaclima/l. caeruleus cross.

Actually this section covers any Cichlid hybrids, including Africans. They just not as common as Central American hybrids.

Didn't even realize that, my bad.

To the op: it could be a metriaclima kingsizei, though they're not as common in lfs's as other zebras.

I googled that.. the bottom fins are exact to the metriaclima.. Can you tell me anything about that fish? It seems to be quite aggressive.. I'm unsure what to expect for color development, size, etc

Metriaclimas are pretty aggressive, alot of it is towards conspecifics, not the most aggressive of mbuna though, you'd often see red zebra/yellow lab crosses, which is why most either keep the two in large groups of their own specie or don't mix them in their tanks at all. Common zebras usually grow to around 6". The color will most likely stay how it is right now, there are no drastic color changes between juvie and adult mbuna.

Like Spartacus said above, the least aggressive are yellow labs and even less, even docile are acei's, which can even be grouped together with several males, as opposed to single male per a group of 3+ females.
