Hes a jack alright and is going to be a bada$$ when you grow him out he'll get red on his head head and body between his pearls you just don't see very many red jack demspys anymore

If it is a JD, and may be, it's not S American, but actually N American being from the Yucatan in Mexico, and a little south down into Central America.
A detail but nevertheless.....

It would be central american the only genus indigenous to north america is herichthys
