is the RED shoulder the same as the ORANGE shoulder the pics i have see of the orange shoulder are like my ruby red. i know of some lfs around me were i can get red shoulders but i want to know if there the same as orange shoulders?

Heh, I hate it when LFS just use common names, there are hundreds of species in Lake Malawi alone and by far not as many "common names".

My guess is it's one of the two Aulonocara Korneliae

or the one I mentioned above, the "red shouldered" peacock :) Aulonocara Hansbaenschi. But then again, it might be just a mislabeled fish since it looks just like your German Red. I would spend a little extra and get my fish from a reputable source.

there hasn't been any "orange shoulders" on the list i have a couple of stores i go to one imports everything from the continent that it originates from. they have alot of differsnt kinds. the orange shoulder looks like the Aulonocara Korneliae the second from the left scond row. they do look like my ruby red thats why i was asking i thought that mine was the aulonocara korneliae. i think mine bread with a female sunshine i can't wait to see the babys, it was this one or my regal that died and the female died after the spawn so not positive on the father, cause both the regal and the ruby were courting the female. time will tell. thanks for the info. just a thought...i saw a breedin group of ruby reds 1 male 6 females for $60 is that a good price and what could i expect for sale of babys? i thought about breeding africans as well as other fishes.
