WOW I thought the from the juvie greens I have seen pics of that greens looked alot more green and flush out to almost a silver over time.
Could it be something with a blue base? it seems to have alot of blue/purple hues to it in that light.

Even though the pictures is not clear but I am sure its not SR or RTG. There is really no red color in this fish at all. Could it be 1.5 red?
I would go back to the guy who sold you this fish and rip him a new ***hole! That is definitely not an SR or RTG. High quality green for sure. Do a search on the net for SR's and you will see the diff for yourself even when juvies they have alot of colour
He looks like a green to me too but my green is actually a brownish color. He's in a planted tank and I think that the lights may have tanned him to a dark color. Yours looks a lot nicer than mine but I paid a green's price for mine. My dynamic red has red fins and the scales have a light pink shine at the edges.
Hopefully your friend will refund you the money if he said it was a red and it turns out to be a green. Otherwise, he's not much of a friend.

Greens usually have yellow tails and fins, not red or purple.
Post some clear pictures with the fish under white lights.
That doesn't look like a green to me. It's very dark with a blue hue, and its fins are redish.
Greens are light with a green hue and yellowish fins. Keeping in mind it's in a planted tank a green should look greener, not blue.
