Yes there are many problems mixing peacocks. All females from different species look alike and it is almost impossible to differentiate them. Plus male peacocks will easily hybridize with female peacocks of different species.

So it is only a problem if I plan to sell the fry as non hybrids. Right now I have no intentions of selling fry yet, I may get to that point but it wont be for awhile. So other than that, no issue?

nope no issue, you can let them breed like crazy and eat the fry. Only issue I could see you having would be when your ready to breed, you wouldn't be able to tell which female was for which species of peacock.

Well since that fish came from an assorted tank it usually means that it is a hybrid (even if it does not look like one). So any fry from this fish should be sold as hybrids as there is no way to determine the genetics.

How are you so certain it's a female maleri? You won't be able to tell, it's all guesses and it's most likely a hybrid if you don't know it's origin or if they are reputable sellers.

:iagree:

most of the females look the same. Remember some maybe brown some maybe more silvr depending on the type. Yellowish peacocks make up a lot of different types. Worse, some yellow peacocks may in fact look more yellow but from a more orange line. It is all mixed up. Only way to know for sure is to vent or wait till they hold.
