ID my Cray Please

Can someone please ID this Crayfish for me?
Any info you could give me about them also would be great.

It's an Electric blue crayfish, i have about 30 babies here is a pic of the biggest one.

The top of his head is smooth but the sides of his head are bumpy

He's around 4 inches I paid $7 for him at the lfs. Was this a decent deal?

thats a good deal, i see people or fish shops sell them for $15+, what do you have in your tank besides the crayfish? some fishes may kill your cray after a molt this is when they are vulnerable because they are really soft and need about a week or 2 before their shells get hard again

He was moved into his own 20gal last night. What would work as tank mates for him? Or would he be better by himself?

Some crays ignore fish and others.....not so much. A lot of it probably depends on how full you keep the cray and what species he/she is. The P.alleni is supposed to be one of the more aggressive specis. If you want to try it I'd try it with fish you're not attached to.

Deffinite P. alleni you got. 7 bucks is a good price. I payed like $60(including shipping) for mine off live aquaria.

I'm just gonna take a shot in the dark and say it's a female. Keep her well fed and she shouldn't bother fish. Lift up the skrit and take a picture so we can confim it's sex.
