That's a thought too... I did just change the substrate in his tank to sand & cleaned the filter so I think the cycling is a bit out as its slightly cloudy... I'm watching him closely & testing the water.. Should be right in another day or so.

Im just taking a realistic approach, I'm not saying its ugly or I don't like it. What I am saying is genetically the two fish are quite different and will the coloring might look the same the similar part. kookiejar2's is structurally built like that classic Red Dragon and sports a small kok. Yours has more of a Trimac build so it won't have that bulkier look, especially in the face. Not to mention yours could very well be a female while the other is clearly a male. I'm not saying I don't like yours, just saying that they aren't the same.

Thanks chrisplosion, it's cool & your right... However the breeder who gave me this guy assured me it is a male... I know it's hard to tell when they are young... But he did claim to be the expert..

I know it shouldn't matter... But I want a freaking male!! Lol

Difficult to say it from a mere pic, but with that slight puffy chest on the guy, I would also lean towards it being male...... I could be wrong though.... Would look forward to see your FH's progress nonetheless.
