you can positivley sex them at around 7 plus inches by lookign at the anal fin.

Woot, I was right about withholding sex ID. Mine went from about 2.5" in late september to 5.5" a few weeks ago. Growth rate varies based on the individual though.Yep def. senegal, prob female. They ussually shoot up about 6" very quickly (a few months) and then slow down significantly. Mine hit 10" in about two years. Its now five years old, the same size and not really showing any signs of getting any bigger.
Thats a senegal, looks a little thin in the first pic, that ornate is expensive comapired to the one i just picked up.
I have had my two growouts on bloodworms and pellets for a while, but I recently switched the bloodworms for mainly beefheart, and thier now really putting on size, might want to try that out.

So I added frozen beefheart to her diet and man has she bulked up! I'm so glad she's finally beginning to look like a real poly
