Id my new catfish

Never kept one myself but they are calm, peaceful fish with any fish that is to big to fit in its mouth so you should be fine and they grow to around 1' so I think it will be a good fit with that stock, good luck.

except 18" appears very rare and may be only in the wild. I have never seen any >12" TL in captivity.

They don't bother other fish that they cannot prey on. Mine 6 were somewhat boistrous with each other, pushing around, establishing pecking order; no injuries though. A shoal of a dozen of adults looks awesome. The more you have, the less they will hide and the more natural behavior they will display. Most keepers agree that 1 to 3 fish hide a lot.
