Just out of curiosity, I emailed Bigsmooth's photo to Jeff Rapp's for an ID. He said it was a gold female motaguense.

I didn't say it was a hybrid, I said it could be.

Members of the Parachomis family can all breed with each other quite easily.
Heck if I wanted to I could cross my Loisellei with my Jag without much effort.
 
definitely a Gold Tiger Motaguense....I have an F1 of the same fish and mine looks just like yours but brighter gold.........Maybe it's the lighting and dark photo throwing everyone off..>Congrats on the Gold Tiger Mota, my female runs my tank of a Jag, Atabapo Fire Pike, kicks my flowerhorns ass too. Mota's are mean but really built like tanks.
