I will get another pic of it. The tail is about half as long as a yepezi. The ray is 7 inches but the tail is only about 3 inches.

tail could have been damaged before... i had 2 9" motoro before 1 tail over 12" other 6" ish its tail got eaten by something

That is not a humerosa. Not sure what to call it but definitely not humerosa. And humerosa's get big. My friend has one that is at least 24" wide. that is a very cool looking ray though.

Just curious why you say it is not a humerosa. I have looked at pics of both the yepezi and the humerosa. The one I have has a tail that looks more like the humerosas I have looked at. Is there a determining factor that separates the humerosa from the yepezi? I will add a pic of the whole ray tonight when I get home.

A humerosa has a totally different pattern on the disk. I'll try and find a pic for you if someone else doesn't beat me to the punch

Got ya.. ;)

I think in my unscientific observations the P.yepezi cf = P. humerosa. Look at the eyes. A true P. yepezi looks nothing like the so called cf form.

Thats why its called a cf.. ;)

But even so they should share at least some characteristics in common. Usually CF means just a different color/pattern not a completely different looking animal!

I am still going to post some better pics. From what I have notice about all the yepezi pics I have looked at is they seem to be more streamlined, longer, and have lower sitting smaller eyes. There pattern is very similar indeed. I will try to get a belly pic. Her underside is white and black. I don't know if that makes a difference.
