ID Of wild caught cichlid?

I meant to say it's probably a hybrid. I say this because many many many strains of tilapia have been introduced to florida waters and most all of the tilapia here are hybrids.

Perhaps.
Oreochromis sp. are notoriously hybridized and they do breed easily with one another. They are common introductions around the world. Tilapia mariae however is a substrate spawning species, not a mouthbrooder, and the only other substrate spawning species commonly found in FL is T. buttikoferi.
Perhaps some rendalli out there but there's not much else I can think of right off the bat that could easily hybridize with T. mariae.

Well I kept one in my 55 and there might be another one in my 120. I've been on vacation for the past 12 days so I really doubt it's still alive it was only like 2". And my fish ate the other 2 I threw in there.
