My boyfriend and I have had this Tigerfish for about 8 months. It was labeled "African Tigerfish" when we bought it, but we wanted a second opinion, just in case. He's about 7 inches long right now.

Def ATF (African Tiger Fish)

I have not developed the eye for the exact species between Vittatus, Forksoli or the big eye... but I'm guessing Vittatus like my Avatar (except half his size :D)

If you search in "Other Charicins" you will find pics and info in the Sticky Thread ;)

Nice, what's he eating and what size tank us he in?

190% Not Goliath :D
6-7 feet is MAYBE a wild one but in home aquaria I doubt they will pass 3'. If you have pics, please show your source (would love to see one that big) :D

He eats tuffies and he's currently 36 gallon bow front.

WOW, that is a tiny tiny tank for a speed-deamon. But this is another reason why I LOVE this fish... The way they understand their surroundings. Goliath would be bashed up as their skittish ways gets the best of them.

I am not even going to get deep into it but I HIGHLY suggest you upgrade. He needs a min 150gl tank now.

Thanks for sharing and keep a watch your parameters :D

He's only grown about two maybe three inches in 8 monthes and he looks tiny in that tank I didn't know he needed more room I have a 150 gl set up but he will get eaten instantly in that tank. So im confused is he a goliath? And how big will he get?
