Bought him as a "Hybrid" they got this guy in, the other one was def RTC, had more of a leiX look then standard tsnx ( almost took both but one at a time is enough!)

Hybrid or TSN?

IMO and from what I know, it's both.

It is what's commonly sold everywhere in the states as a TSN. TSN is not a species but a genus of 4 or 8 recognized species - one popular genus revision recognizes 4 while the other does 8.

Anyway, experts (of which I am not) agree that the way this guy looks, it cannot be a purebred - that's why it is listed as a Pseudoplatystoma sp. hybrid(3) on PCF http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=2452

It is hypothesized that it is a product of at least two different TSN species or maybe even Sorubimichthys planiceps is involved - they do have a prominent white lateral band - http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=122

I suppose i should have been more specific.. im safe to say the general concesus is if he is a hybrid hes NOT a rtc hybrid?
